(Above) Clear Lake Bakery gets face lift, 1992The wave of downtown building improvement projects continued in 1992 when the Clear Lake Bakery removed its former metal awning and replaced it with a fabric bubble awning.  The new awning sported a Butt’r Top logo and the business name.

CL girls give rated Humboldt a contest

The Clear Lake Lions pushed Humboldt to four games, but dropped a North Central Conference tilt 3-1 on Thursday, Sept. 21.

“We came out a little flat in set one, but rebounded very well in set two for the win,” said Coach Richie Ellis.

Special teams seal a win for Cardinals

The Garner-Hayfield-Ventura Cardinals (3-2, 2-1) cruised to a 35-20 win Friday night on the road against the Hampton-Dumont Bulldogs (0-5, 0-3).

Despite the Bulldog offense winning the total yards bout 301 to 234, GHV was able to separate themselves with stellar special teams play, which generated 17 points (two touchdowns, five PAT kicks) to decide the game.
