The motto for the Clear Lake boys golf team this season was “The Revenge Tour.”  Saturday the Lions completed their tour.  And revenge was sweet.

GHV represented by Heinemann

Matthew Heinemann, from Garner-Hayfield-Ventura, was an individual ideal qualifier for the State Tournament.  Heinemann field for 35th, shooting a (77-84) 161.

Coach Ken Krause said Heinemann, who was in 27th after day one, started out strong on Saturday, but a four hole stretch cost him a good round.

On to State for GHV soccer team

It’s a dream come true for the Garner-Hayfield-Ventura boys soccer team, as all their hard work is going to be rewarded with a trip to the State Soccer Tournament.  The trip will be the first in school history for the team.

Peterson and Adams fight hard at State

The doubles team of Jacob Peterson and Mac Adams participated in the State Tennis Tournament at Waterloo Friday, May 26.

In the first round, the Lions played the fourth seed from Glenwood (Lauritsen and Konfst).  Peterson, a senior, and Adams, a sophomore, lost in a hard fought match, 7-5 6-4.

The team from Glenwood finished third overall.

In consolation play,  Peterson and Adams lost to Troe-Burkaamper, from Boone.  The scores were 6-0, 6-3.
