Scott Thomas Friest, 51, of Mason City, Iowa died Monday, May 9, 2017 at his home.

A gathering of friends and family will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, May 19, 2017, at the Clear Lake Cemetery, Clear Lake, with Pastor Will Hunsaker officiating.  There will be a time of sharing and refreshments following the service at the Georgia Hanford Park, 22nd St. S.E., Mason City.

As in life Scott was a caring, loving person and even in death, he continued by donating to Iowa Donor Network.

(Above) Clear Lake and Ventura firefighters were called to the scene of a house fire Monday night on 15th Avenue South.  Officials speculate lightning struck the tree (right of house) and started a fire in the attic.  Damage was estimated at $100,000.-Reporter photo by Chris Barragy.

Severe weather Monday night caused significant damage in the South Shore, Clear Lake State Park and Bayside areas.

Without speaking a word, Beckett Peterson lights up a room and brings a smile to all those he meets.  Now, it’s giving great pleasure to all those that know Beckett to return the favor.
