Anxious sellers and buyers: Farmers Market opening early

The 2017 Clear Lake Farmers Market season will kick off Saturday, May 20.  According to Farmers Market board president, Andrea Evelsizer “The Farmers Market is starting a week earlier this season to accommodate our eager customers, as well as, our excited vendors with spring products. Being named this year, on Facebook, as one of the Top 10 Iowa Farmers Markets by “Best Things of Iowa”, was a big deal and we are excited to again offer the best local, homegrown and artisan quality products.”

Remember When 5-17-17

(Above) CLHS graduation, 1992 - Mike Andrews was the first to climb the bell tower outside the gymnasium and ring the bell in 1992.  Ringing the bell is the traditional way to signify the students have graduated.  Clear Lake High School graduated 97 students in 1992.  The graduation was held on Sunday, May 31, in the high school gymnasium.

Peterson and Adams earn a trip to State Tennis Meet

The doubles team of Jacob Peterson and Mac Adams qualified for the State Tennis Meet by finishing second at District competition played in Waverly Thursday, May 11.

“Jacob and Mac had a very tough semi-final round, but were able to stay together as a team and come up big in the last two games,” said Coach Rich Peters.

Clear Lake and GHV compete in Class 2A Sectional Golf Tournament

Clear Lake’s Thomas Storbeck topped the field at the Class 2A Sectional Golf Tournament held at the Hampton Country Club Friday, May 12.   Teammates Kyle Calaguas and Jackson Hamlin followed as medalist runner-up and third place, propelling the Lions to a 42-stroke victory over runner-up Clarion-Goldfield-Dows, 330-372.
