Second round of sidewalk bids yields results for City

Timing was everything for the Clear Lake City Council.  In 2016, bids to replace brick sidewalks on Main Avenue were 32 percent above the engineer’s estimate for the work.  The Council rejected the lone bid and opted to try again.

On their second try, the Council accepted a bid just under 4 percent lower than the engineer’s estimate, clearing the way for work to begin this spring replacing the uneven walkways.
