Clear Lake sophomore Eric Faught earned a second straight North Central Conference wrestling title Saturday at Algona.  Faught, who improved to 27-1, won by fall in both of his 113-pound matches to win the weight.  Both pins were recorded in under one-minute.

Solid defense provided a pair of wins for the Garner-Hayfield-Ventura girls last week.  The Cards are now 6-9 overall and 5-6 in the conference.

Rebounding wasn’t enough for the Bison of North Iowa (1-9, 1-12) as they fell to GHV by way of efficient scoring and scrappy defense.

The wins just keep coming for the Garner-Hayfield-Ventura boys basketball team.  The Cards tacked a pair of lopsided wins to their total during the past week, pushing them to 14-1 overall and 11-0 in the Top of Iowa Conference West.

Remember When 1-25-2017

(Above) Dog protestors, 1967 - About 14 young people from Clear Lake protested the dog ordinance by picketing Mayor B.C. Myer’s home in 1967.  He invited the youths to the next City Council meeting and that he would have some suggestions for revising the ordinance which stated that a dog must be leashed when not on the owner’s property.
