Don Hoppel Co-Ed Relays

The Garner-Hayfield-Ventura girls hosted the Don Hoppel Co-Ed Relays on Monday May 2.  The girls placed fourth in the eight-team field with 70 points.  Osage won the meet with 163 points.

Jillian Heitland was the only Cardinal to win an event.  She won the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:10.14.

The Garner-Hayfield-Ventura boys track team brought home some individual championships on their way to a fourth place finish at the Don Hoppel Co-Ed Relays held on Monday, May 2, in Garner.  The Cardinals earned 63 points in the nine team competition.  Forest City won the meet with 151 points.

Lions beat Wildcats in a 6-1 victory

For the second time in as many weeks, the Lions took on Humboldt Monday, May 2.  The outcome was the same as the first go-round, with Clear Lake posting a win, 6-1.

The Lions wasted no time getting onto the score board.  Ryan Faught delivered a great ball up the middle to Jarod Anderson, who finished the attack in the second minute of the contest.  In the 10th minute the Lions tallied a double assist goal, with Anderson passing to Justin Sholly, who found Tanner Berger for the second goal of the match.

Snelling claims medalist honors in two meets

Clear Lake beat Hampton-Dumont on Tuesday, May 3, at Veterans Memorial Golf Course in Clear Lake.  The Lions beat the Bulldogs 193-219.

   Emily Snelling fired a 39 to take the medalist honors.  No other scores were made available.

Five of Clear Lake’s six golfers had season lows, helping the Lions to beat East Marshall and Dike-New Hartford on Thursday, May 5.
