Elizabeth “Betty” Jane Jacobson, 88, of Clear Lake, died Thursday, June 16, 2016, at the Oakwood Care Center, Clear Lake.

Roberta A. Small, 90, of Rembrandt, Iowa, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2016, at her home.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at the Our Savior’s Lutheran Church of Rembrandt, with the Pastor Kim A. Dewey officiating.  Burial was at Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery,  Storm Lake, Iowa.   

Shaun Cesar, born March 19, 1956, enjoyed a wonderful zest for life full of incredible experiences and the love of family and friends.  How can such a life be summed up in a column?  It can’t.  But one can reflect upon how Shaun Cesar touched so many lives during his journey.  Things and experiences are all part of a life, but it is the people, the people in Shaun Cesar’s life that meant the most.  The people he surrounded himself with that defines what kind of man Shaun Cesar was during his time on Earth.

Daniel R. Starr, 89, Clear Lake, died Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at the Good Shepherd Health Center, Mason City, Iowa.  According to his wishes, his body has been cremated.  Inurnment will be at a later date, in Sunnyvale, Calif. with his parents.
