Fire destroys boat trailers

The Clear Lake Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire shortly after 2 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, on Interstate 35 at the exit 188 northbound off ramp.  A 2015 Chevy 3500 Flatbed truck pulling a trailer loaded with boat trailers, was fully involved when firefighters arrived. No injuries were reported and the truck and contents are a total loss with an estimated value of loss of $90,000.  The vehicle was owned by Mid American Trailer Company out of Lebanon, Mo.

Council OKs dredging at Venetian Canal

The Ventura City Council has approved a dredging project for the Venetian Village Canal, located on the lake’s north shore.

At its Monday, April 25 meeting the Council heard from consulting engineer Jason Petersburg, of Veenstra & Kimm, as well as members of the Venetian Village Canal Association.

Parkinson’s Awareness event tops $20,000

The rain and wind didn’t dampen the spirits of about 200 walkers and runners participating in the first Parkinson’s Awareness Event held Saturday at Clear Lake City Park.  Clear Lake teacher Geri Berding, who has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s organized the event with the help of many volunteers.  Berding kicked off the run/walk by leading the way with her brother, Chris Terri, mother Dora Lee and father, Dr.
