The Garner-Hayfield-Ventura girls soccer team picked up two big wins last week.

With a never give-up attitude, the Cardinals found a way to top a very good Aplington-Parkersburg team on Tuesday, April 26.

The Lions won four events on their way to earning the team title at the Osage Boys Invite Tuesday, April 26. Clear Lake outdistanced runner-up St. Ansgar 132 to 124.  Charles City was third in the seven-team field with 102 points.

Cardinals place third at home meet

Cardinal Relays

It was a successful home meet for the GHV boys on Tuesday, April 26.  The Cardinals placed third in the 10-team meet with 86 points.  West Hancock won the meet with 108 points and Lake Mills was third with 106 points.

GHV dominated the 800 meter run, capturing first and second place finishes in the event.  Reece Smith won the race with a time of 2:11.94, followed closely by Johnathan O’Connor with 2:13.74.
