Donna Lou Legler, 79, of Altoona, Iowa, formerly Clear Lake, died Sunday, Feb. 14, 2016, at the Altoona Nursing Home. Her going home on Valentine’s Day is a reflection of her big heart, her love of pink, chocolate and jewelry.

A Celebration of Life Service was held on Friday, Feb. 19, 2016, at the Clear Lake Christian Church, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Drew Rietjens officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, Iowa. Family suggests memorials to Clear Lake Christian Church or Altoona Nursing Home in Memory of Donna.

Caroline R. Rae

Caroline R. Rae, 88, of Clear Lake, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016, at Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, Iowa.

Per Caroline’s wishes, her body has been cremated and a memorial service will be at a later date.

Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, was in charge of arrangements.

James Allison Ransom, 93, of Clear Lake, died Monday, Feb. 15, 2016, at Rockwell Community Nursing Home, in Rockwell, Iowa.

A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27, 2016, at Clear Lake United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Jacqueline Thompson officiating and military honors provided by the Clear Lake V.F.W. Post 4868.

A light lunch and time for visiting with the family will follow the service in the church fellowship hall.
