Remember When 4-6-2016

(Above) Going, going, gone...in 1966 - The Lake Shore Hotel is no more, as workers cleared the site of debris in 1966.  Demolition of the 90 year old structure was completed in a week.  At the time, owners P.O. Petersen, Clear Lake, and Charles Elder and Don Marshall, of Mason City planned to construct a 30-unit apartment house on the site.  They kept some of the older pieces from the hotel and will incorporate them into the new structure.
