Football scrimmage and meal to be held at GHV Aug. 21

GHV Sports Boosters and MaxYield Co-op will be hosting a public meal for all GHV football fans on Friday, Aug. 21, from 5-7 p.m., at the GHV High School.  The meal is in conjunction with the GHV JV/V football scrimmage against Lake Mills at 6 p.m.

The menu will include pork burgers, chips, granola bars and a drink.  Free will donations will be accepted.

The GHV Sports Boosters will also have NFL Sunday tickets available, as well as GHV apparel to purchase.

Colon now in training for Team USA

Former Clear Lake prep and University of Northern Iowa All-American wrestler Joe Colon is now in Colorado Springs, Colo. for Team USA wrestling’s training camp.  The camp is held in preparation for the World Championships set for Sept. 7-12 in Las Vegas, Nev.

Democratic presidential candidates will flock to Surf for Wing Ding

Friday event may become a national role model

Anticipation is high for the annual Iowa Democratic Wing Ding on Friday, Aug. 14, at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake.  Organizers say the event is expected to be the largest political event North Iowa has ever seen.
