85 Years Ago August 1930

Superintendent Pease and family, of Buffalo Center, Iowa, arrived in Clear Lake and are nicely settled in their home on North Second Street, which they purchased from the Eleanor Hansen estate.

The hardware store of McGowan and Sheridan has undergone extensive improvements in the arrangement of counters and tables for the display of goods, making selecting and selling articles more convenient to both the customer and the salesman.

Armando Torres Leal, Sr., 79, of Clear Lake, died Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, in Mason City.

A memorial service was held on Sunday, Aug. 2, 2015, at First Congregational Church, Clear Lake, with the Rev. Keith Scott officiating.  Inurnment was in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Family suggests memorial contributions to the Armando Leal, Sr. Memorial Fund.
