Four CL grapplers head to State

Four wrestlers will represent Clear Lake High School at the State Wrestling Meet which begins Thursday in Des Moines.

Undefeated and top ranked Eric Faught, along with Sam Nelson, Braxton Doebel and Kade Hambly each won District championships Saturday on the CLHS mats.  Three other Lion wrestlers came up just short in their bid for a State berth.

Clear Lake’s perfect season continued Tuesday, Feb. 5, as the Lions rolled over Hampton-Dumont, 72-27.  The Lions, who improved to 18-0 and are ranked number one in Class 3A, shot at a 49 percent clip against the Bulldogs.

GHV boys tune up for Districts by topping RRMR

James Betz and Landon Dahlbeck provided a powerful one-two punch, helping GHV to a 66-50 victory over Rockford Tuesday, Feb. 5.  Both Cards shot over 60 percent and put in 23 points apiece in the win.  Betz also dominated the boards with 12 rebounds and dished out a team-high six assists.
