In the midst of the season of giving, the Ventura community is finding itself very blessed.

Giving Tree update: Sixty ornaments remain on the tree

In its third week, the Giving Tree at the Mirror-Reporter office has seen 169 of its 229 total ornaments checked out for Christmas giving.

The Mirror-Reporter and Clear Lake schools co-sponsor the program each year, matching generous individuals, families, clubs, classrooms and church groups with local families who would appreciate a little help this Christmas season.

Council finalizes agreement with Historical Society

The Clear Lake City Council has approved an agreement with the Clear Lake Historical Society to lease the former Parks and Recreation Department building at 800 1st Ave. S.

The City will lease the building to the group for a period of five years, with the society having the option to renew the lease for another five years.
