Gregory Lee Johnson, 39, of Peosta, formerly of Clear Lake, lost his 10-year struggle with depression on Tuesday, April 24, 2018.

A “Gathering of Remembrance” will be held on Saturday, June 9, from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m., at the Clear Lake Arts Center, 17 S. 4th St., Clear Lake.

In lieu of customary remembrances, any memorial contributions may be directed to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention-Iowa Chapter in Ankeny, or to Everybody Plays Playground, in Clear Lake.

Roger G. May

Roger Gene May, 66, of Clear Lake, died Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at his home in Clear Lake.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 8, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th St., Clear Lake, with Mark Doebel officiating.  Inurnment will be at Clear Lake Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home in Clear Lake.

Family suggests memorial contributions to Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #1102, in Ames.

Dolores Jean State went home to be with her Savior on Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at Good Shepherd Health Center, in Mason City.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 29, at Clear Lake Evangelical Free Church, Clear Lake, with Pastor Steve Bram officiating.  Burial was at Fairview Cemetery in Dows.

Nelda A. Halverson

Nelda A. Halverson, 97, of Urbandale, and formerly of Clear Lake, died Monday, May 28, 2018, at the Kavanagh House Hospice, in Des Moines, surrounded by her loving family.

Nelda’s family will gather for a private memorial service at a future date.

Nelda Adair Severson was born on Oct. 20, 1920, in Fertile, the daughter of Samuel and Winnie (Ebaugh) Severson.  She graduated from the Fertile High School.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 26, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Clear Lake, where Natalie was a member.   A private graveside service was held at the Bingham Township Cemetery.

Jane C. Lane

Jane C. Lane, of Spirit Lake, formerly of Clear Lake, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, at Lakes Regional Healthcare, in Spirit Lake.A graveside inurnment will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 2, at Clear Lake Cemetery, in Clear Lake.

Jane was born on Dec. 29, 1918, the daughter of Clyde and Lena (Heltman) McMullen.  She married James Lane on May 30, 1941 who preceded her in death on Dec. 4, 2007.
