Dorothy Madeliene Ubbelohde, 92, formerly of Clear Lake, died Monday, May 21, 2018, at Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, July 1, 2018, at First Congregational Church, 923 Buddy Holly Pl., Clear Lake, with Pastor Harlan Seri officiating.

Family suggests memorial contributions to First Congregational Church in Clear Lake.

JoAnn “Jo” M. Hughes passed away on May 18, 2018 at her home in Franklin, Tenn.

  Graveside services will be held on May 30, at the Nashville National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband.  Memorials can be given to Avalon Hospice of Tennessee.

  Jo was born in Clear Lake on Feb. 18, 1937, to Evelyn (Palmer) and Frank Wesley Coyier.  She graduated from  Clear Lake High School in 1955.

The Clear Lake girls golf team took eighth place out of 10 at this year’s Class 3A State Golf Tournament played at Cold Water Golf Links in Ames, May 29-30.  Washington won the team title with a 662, followed by Creston with 690 and Gilbert with 691.

Gretchen Jones finished her high school tennis career in style Thursday, May 31, by placing fourth in the Class 1A State Tournament held at Byrnes Park in Waterloo.
