Judith Ann Rinnels, 72, of Clear Lake, died Thursday, July 13, 2017, at Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, in Mason City, Iowa.

Per Judy’s wishes, a graveside service was held on Monday, July 17, 2017, at the Clear Lake Cemetery.

Family suggests memorial contributions to Hospice of North Iowa.

VFW will march on with veterans memorial at Post

Clear Lake V.F.W. Post 4868 members have unanimously given their approval for a veterans memorial to be located in the courtyard of their Main Avenue Post.

Future of local can, bottle recycling program in question

(Above) A large dumpster from Absolute Waste has replaced the usual collection bins for cans and bottles at the Clear Lake Fareway Store. The Chamber of Commerce and One Vision will continue to collect cans through RAGBRAI this Tuesday, July 25.  Beyond that date, another plan is being investigated to take care of the can and bottle recycling in Clear Lake.

Clear Lake RAGBRAI Committee General Chair Diane Thompson and her committee want Clear Lakers to be ready to  enjoy the day and show off our community.

Newest addition to the M-R family

Sybil Loe Finnegan was born Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Blank Children’s Hospital in Des Moines.  This little Irish miracle weighed seven pounds, three ounces at birth and was 19-inches long.  She is the first child of Christopher and Stephanie Finnegan and the first grandchild of Clear Lake Mirror-Reporter Owner/Publisher Mike Finnegan and his wife, Sue.  She is also the first grandchild of Stephanie’s parents, Dawn and Van Turner.
