Morris James Norem, 87, of Clear Lake,  passed away peacefully on July 7, 2017.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at Zion Lutheran Church, 112 N. 4th St., Clear Lake, with the Rev. James Norem and Al Berge officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or the Senior Citizens Center, in Clear Lake.

Area runners compete at State Cross Country Meet

Cardinals pick up a win in Class 2A District 4 opening round

The Garner-Hayfield-Ventura baseball team had a rocky end to its regular season, but the team rallied and won when it counted most, in the opening round of the Class 2A District 4 baseball tournament.

GHV 12, B-K 5

The Cardinals opened the post-season with a bang, winning their first game in the Class 2A District 4 baseball tournament.  GHV topped Belmond-Klemme, 12-5, on Saturday, July 8, in Eagle Grove.

The Clear Lake girls put themselves in a position to challenge Spirit Lake in the Class 3A Region 2 semi-final Friday night, but saw their season end with a 10-5 loss.
