Tough week for the CL Lions

After dropping four games this week, the Clear Lake baseball team fell out of the rankings in class 2A. Last week the team ranked sixth in Class 2A. The team moved its record to 9-9 overall and 5-2 in the conference.

The Garner-Hayfield-Ventura baseball team opened strong, but couldn’t maintain the wins, dropping three games at the end of the week.  The Cardinal’s record now stands at 10-7.

The Cardinals split a pair of games with North Iowa in a double header showdown on Monday, June 12.  Both teams were hot at the plate and seemed to score at will.  North Union took the first game, 16-10, while GHV took the second game, 21-13.

Clear Lake hosts triathlon

The first TRI Clear Lake sprint triathlon took place in Clear Lake on Saturday, June 10.  The windy weather didn’t deter the participants who completed a 750 meter swim, a 12.4 mile bike course and finished with a 3.1 mile run.
