Incumbents Boehnke, Callanan returned to Council;

Ebeling defeats Oehlert in Ward 1

Jim Boehnke and Mike Callanan were returned to the Clear Lake City Council by voters in the Tuesday, Nov. 3, general election.  They will be joined by Mark Ebeling, who was a 178-119 winner in the race for Ward One representative.

Giving Tree forms due, tree up Nov. 18

For a quarter of a century, the Giving Tree has helped to make the holidays a little brighter for Clear Lake area families.  We are pleased to report that there is already strong interest by families, businesses and other groups interested in choosing ornaments from The Giving Tree and purchasing anonymous gifts for local families.

The 26th annual Giving Tree will be displayed in the Mirror-Reporter office starting Wednesday, Nov. 18.

Superintendent sharing on School Board agenda

The Clear Lake School Board is expected to discuss the future of its superintendent sharing agreement with the Mason City School District when it meets tonight (Wednesday, Nov. 11).

The 2015-16 school year is the sixth that the two districts have shared a superintendent, as well as other positions.  Earlier this year the Board indicated it was interested in at least planning for a time in which the superintendent position would not be shared.
