Alma I. Ostrander

Alma Irene Ostrander, 95, of Clear Lake, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2018, at Hancock County Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.

Alma will be buried at Clear Lake Cemetery in Clear Lake.  A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring of 2019 and will be announced closer to that time.

Alma Irene Ostrander, 95, of Clear Lake, died Monday, Dec. 31, 2018, at Hancock County Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.

Donald L. Jackson Jr.

Donald LeRoy Jackson Jr. passed away suddenly on Friday, Dec. 28, 2018.

Don was born on Sept. 26, 1941, to Donald Sr. and Helen (Hauge) Jackson, in Forest City, Iowa and graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1960, in Clear Lake.

Cora J. Schmidt

Cora June Schmidt (85), of Garner and formerly of North Branch, Minn., passed peacefully in her sleep at 12:30 p.m. on New Years Day, Jan. 1, 2019, to her eternal home with Jesus, her precious Lord and Savior.

Her funeral was held at the Kost Evangelical Free Church, in North Branch, on Friday, Jan. 4, with a burial in Kost Evangelical Free Church Cemetery.

Arrangements were made through Boman Funeral Home, Webster City.

The Clear Lake City Council bought into the “build it and they will come” philosophy Monday night in a big way.  The group voted unanimously to spend an estimated $1.7 million to fund the first two phases of improvements to North 32nd Street.
