Finding Answers: Clear Lake resident sees research done decades ago put into use today

Remember When 12-26-2018

(Above) Class helps those in need in 1993 - Fifth graders in Mrs. Furleigh’s Central School class in 1993 wanted to do something for those who are not fortunate enough to enjoy a huge Christmas dinner with all the trimmings this season.  So the students began a food drive for the Hawkeye Harvest Food Bank serving North Iowa.  The group of 26 students collected 178 food items.

After 45 years, Don and Flo Hauge have sold their business to Scott and Michele Aydelotte.

Scam costs local resident thousands

Clear Lake area residents are being put on alert about a gift card scam circulating in the area.

On Thursday, Dec. 20, the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office received a report from a county resident believing they had been scammed. The responding sheriff’s deputy was told by the resident that they had been using their personal computer in their home when they noticed a pop-up screen that appeared to come from the Microsoft Corporation. The pop-up stated they needed to update their computer and provided a number to call.
