Ruth Rodenbeck, 77, of Clear Lake, died Sunday, March 26, 2017, at Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, in Mason City, Iowa.A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at Zion Lutheran Church, 112 N. 4th St., Clear Lake, with Pastor Steve Bang officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial contributions to Zion Lutheran Church or Hospice of North Iowa.

John Timothy Hart II, 26, of Mason City, Iowa, died on Thursday, March 23, 2017.

  A memorial service was held on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, Mason City, with military honors provided by the United States Army. Inurnment will take place at a later date.

  Family suggests memorial contributions to the John Hart II Memorial Fund.

  John was born July 14, 1990, the son of John and Annalisza Hart, in Mason City.  He married Jessy Bramley on Oct. 4, 2008, in Russell Springs, Ky.

Lake’s ice is out, Lady is coming in

“Ice-out” was declared on Clear Lake Thursday, March 23, clearing the way for the installation of docks like this one for the Lady of the Lake at the Sea Wall.  The ice-out date turned out to be fairly typical, after an extremely warm February had everyone thinking of a new record.  Last year, the ice out was called on March 16.-Reporter photo by Chris Barragy.

Commercial dock request turned down by P&R board

A proposal to construct a commercial boat dock at the Beach Drive public lake access was turned down Wednesday night by the Clear Lake Parks and Recreation Board.
