The Lions had several strong performance at the five-team Osage Invite held Tuesday, April 25.  It was a close competition, with St. Ansgar winning the team title with 107 points.  Charles City was second with 79, followed by New Hampton with 78 points, Clear Lake with 68 and Osage with 60 points.

CL girls soccer team posts a 5-0 shut-out over Humboldt

The Clear Lake girls soccer team posted a shutout over Humboldt Monday, April 24.  The Lions won by a 5-0 score to put their record at 2-3.

“After a challenging weekend and the loss for the season of one of our key players, Kaitlyn Moore, it was nice to see the girls come out ready to compete,” said Coach Steve Faber.   “This team has multiple players capable of putting the ball in the goal.”

In singles play, Gretchen Jones and Chloe Mueller easily defeated their opponents in the number one and three matches.

Clear Lake prevails through nasty weather for triangular win

On a night where most activities were cancelled, the Clear Lake boys golf team played through spitting rain and 39 degree temperatures Friday, April 28, at Algona.  Perseverance paid off and the Lions defeated both the host school and Iowa Falls-Alden.

GHV boys earn runner-up status at North Union

Despite some windy conditions, the Garner-Hayfield-Ventura boys golf team managed the most consistent scoring of the season at the North Union meet held on Monday, April 24.

GHV was eight strokes behind the winners of the meet, North Union, which shot a 165.  GHV ended with a 173 and Belmond-Klemme finished with 291.
