(Above) Demolition in Ventura, 1992 - On Monday, April 6, 1992, the former Ventura Public Library and Post Office were demolished in preparation for a new building that would serve the same purpose.  Crews from Yohn Ready Mix were able to knock down the structure.  Dean Snyder Construction was the contractor for the project.

Clarice Lenor Borrill, 91, formerly of Clear Lake, died Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at the I.O.O.F. Home, in Mason City, Iowa.

A memorial service will be held at  1:30 p.m., Friday, March 31, 2017, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th St. Clear Lake, with the Rev. Dave Byrd officiating. Visitation will be held from 1-1:30 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 31, 2017 prior to the service.

Ruth Rodenbeck, 77, of Clear Lake, died Sunday, March 26, 2017, at Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, in Mason City, Iowa.A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at Zion Lutheran Church, 112 N. 4th St., Clear Lake, with Pastor Steve Bang officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial contributions to Zion Lutheran Church or Hospice of North Iowa.

John Timothy Hart II, 26, of Mason City, Iowa, died on Thursday, March 23, 2017.

  A memorial service was held on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, Mason City, with military honors provided by the United States Army. Inurnment will take place at a later date.

  Family suggests memorial contributions to the John Hart II Memorial Fund.

  John was born July 14, 1990, the son of John and Annalisza Hart, in Mason City.  He married Jessy Bramley on Oct. 4, 2008, in Russell Springs, Ky.

  Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, in Osage, Iowa, with Pastor Andy Reed officiating. Inurnment will be at the Osage Cemetery.
